Ocean Waves…Sandy Beaches…A Bit Of Heaven On Earth!

Ocean waves…sandy beaches…a bit of heaven on earth…and with each wild wave of the ocean…the peace of rest washes over your weary soul.

Seeing my hubby doing this last week blessed my heart. WB is a very strong man, but his neck fusion surgery has been very painful and difficult, so we went to the most peaceful God place we could go to so he could rest…and that was the Oregon coast.

There is something about the ocean that is very spiritual and healing to your heart and soul…it is the peace that passes understanding to me:)

Maybe it is the wild at heart feeling of the power of the water and the waves…

Or maybe it is the power of the ocean that only God can control…whatever it is…it is balm to your soul.

The roar of the waves we could hear from just about every room in the townhouse, brought deep relaxation during the daytime and lulled us to sleep during the night.

I loved the beauty of the Twin Rocks…two silent partners that have stood the test of time in a timeless world.

Filled with varied light and muted colors that invoke life’s mysteries…and for some reason our spirit connects deeply with the beauty that our heart sees, as life is like that at times….sometimes the muted colors of our life or the memories that have faded are yet the most beautiful and impacting parts of our lives here on this earth.

Incredible views framed with the intensity of life’s blues from the living room balcony.

And with a flick of a moment of life…the views change and are framed with an ethereal glimpse of another world and another time.

The ocean is always changing…maybe that is why I like it…it reminds me of the Rocky Mountains…weather can change in seconds there…views that literally take your breath away…life is ever changing and you move with it…much like you do with the incredible ocean.

And then the sun would slowly begin to set…each night with different colors and light.

Incredible ocean vistas…

Full of glorious sunset beauty…

The last glimpse of the sun and the end of another beautiful day.

I have never grown tired of the ocean…

Walking forever on the beach…sand between your toes.

A constant calm filled with…

Incredible God given beauty.

Indescribably fun for camera nuts:)

I love the ocean and Wild Bill…

“Thank You Lord for creating such a Wild At Heart and Beautiful Sanctuary of Your Glory for us to go to…and a bit of Heaven on earth:)”

I hope you all have a happy weekend filled with good stuff and know HRCG and WB are thinking of you:)

Since we are neighbors in Oregon this post reminds me of how much I love the ocean. Living just 70 miles from Cannon Beach I can’t even count how many times I’ve been there. Having moved from the East coast I can say that there really isn’t an honest comparison. The West Coast beaches are pristine, super clean & uncrowded. Oregon laws took care of that decades ago my legislating strict rules guaranteeing citizens total access to the ocean. Home owners are not permitted to block access. Our smaller population allows for less crowded beaches and scenic areas. We treasure our natural resources here so the we can enjoy Nature’s beauty for our lifetime and that of future generations. Thank you for your post. – Bob

Breathtaking beauty. Thanks so much for sharing. One of the things that drew me to my home is that I could see the entire Pismo coastline from the top of the mobile home park and the Oceano dunes to the left, as well. When the fog rolls away and Maycee and I take a walk to catch the view it always makes me smile. I love living right in between the farmy hills and the magnificent ocean waters! Hope you and WB got the rest you needed while away. 🙂 XOXO-SWM

Oh wowie how blessed you are to see the ocean whenever you want to…and the fog helps you to appreciate it even more…God Bless You:) I do know about fog as occasionally, not every winter but some winters, our days are filled with thick fog and gray days…it gets to you and the animals….finally when it leaves you celebrate and your heart takes a huge leap into happiness that the dreary gray fog has lifted….how pretty it must be to see the ocean when the fog lifts:) We did have a good week…WB is still in quite a bit of pain yet but he is hanging in there…I worry about him and pray that soon God will deliver him from all of this:) This week I have yet been tired as now I fall asleep at the computer and even when I am driving….which I have NEVER done so I think it is stress and not sleeping as deep….but I know God is greater and He will get us through:) And having supportive blog friends helps so much:) Have a peaceful night:)

Thoughts and prayers are with you!!! But you really couldn’t ask for a more beautiful place to be. I miss the beach!! I need that kind of relaxation to be more than a once a year kinda thing because you’re right: there’s not much more calming than ocean sounds and a gorgeous sunset. Hope you’re both doing well 🙂

Thank you so much:) I love the ocean….growing up my Mom who also loved the ocean, and I would travel the 250 miles to the ocean for 4-5 nights and just take it all in. Usually the end of August so that we did some school shopping too in Portland on the way through. The sound of the waves and just how it moves your spirit is true peace to me:) We had a good time and WB slept and slept and slept. I agree that you need it moer than once a year…we just began a business class together and after the instructor interviewed up she made note that she will also work with us on not letting the business run our lives and that we find more time to take little respites as well as the week vacation. Love your cooking girl:)

These pictures are wonderful! Yes, and even some heaven on earth! My heart goes out to you and your husband. Mine was flat on his back for a few weeks in 2011 due to a painful back injury. I hated seeing him in so much pain. He is back to normal and has been fine since. Wishing back to normal for you both, too.

Thank you so much:) It is very hard on WB as he never misses work and does not even take Advil for a headache…this surgery has been so painful and after a month he is not much better so he is sort of depressed at times and I know how he feels as surgery takes so much out of you….I am glad to hear that your hubby is back to normal….back injuries are no fun. Wishing you a blessed Sunday and a new wek too:)

Beautiful photos. Sometimes I miss the ocean being stuck here in the midwest. The sounds of the waves crashing or lapping the shoreline. The smell of the salty air. There’s nothing like it. I hope WB has a speedy recovery.

Yes, it is cold. It’s very unusual with snow this time of the year in Southern Norway, in the moist and warm part of the country, but there was snow here yesterday but sun today! And rain tomorrow… Though I can see some snow in the mountains, many miles away. 🙂 I am too missing the warm summer days… I love wearing only a T-shirt and shorts.

I know me too…the only day of the year I like to have snow is of course Christmas…well maybe two days as having snow on Christmas Eve is always pretty…when I was growing up we always had Christmas Eve at my Grandmother’s home in town which was a 40 mile round trip drive from here with my parents…Dad had 9 brothers and sisters, including him, so when we all got together with lots of Aunts and Uncles and lots of cousins by the dozens at Grandma’s house in town for Christmas Eve dinner and then presents was always fun and lots of good memories. After Grandma passed away when I was 6 we began to have Christmas Eve at Dad’s oldest sister’s house in town and we as a close family did that tradition up until the mid-1980’s as by then all the cousins were married and had families that the Aunts and Uncles wanted to travel to be with…where I was going with all that was often when coming home on Christmas Eve from Grandma’s house and Christmas Eve church service…about half way home, as our elevation is higher here at the ranch, it would begin to snow softly and it was beautiful. I have found that for some reason in the country when it snows it becomes very quiet and serene and looks so very clean and pretty…until it all melts and then it is a muddy mess:( But yes the rest of the year it could be warm and nice and about 80-85 degrees:) Shorts, tee-shirts and bare feet:)

What a nice comment, it sounds wonderful having such a big family! My father have LOTS of cousins, but we don’t celebrate Christmas with them. Though I love Christmas, it’s one of the times my family, grandmother, my two cousins and some aunts and uncles have a wonderful time together, it’s lovely. 🙂

And I agree to you about the snow part, I hate it when it starts disappearing and getting dirty and wet… Summer is anyway the best time of the year! Nice “talking” to you. 😉

Thank you for taking me along on your trip; i hope WB heals up well, that is a tough surgery to recover from. I know b/c I had 2 neck vertebrae fused about 27 years ago (car accident injury). My biggest issue since has been stiffness b/c most of us store tension right there — so be sure he does any and all rehab exercises!! Sending healing thoughts your way, Hugs

You are welcome….I took over 600 pictures:) I am kind of addicted to my camera LOL:) I am glad that you are ok from the accident and how scar it must have been! Bill had his first neck fusion the year I went through BC…o we had quite a year in 2006. They went in from the back of his neck as on the MRI it showed a hole in the vertebrae…he was in the hospital for 4 nights before we came home….he did recover well from it over the next year but this one is much more painful and seems to be tougher for him to get over….the Dr. told me this one has a different set of nerves so that is part of the reason for the severe pain. Yes I sure do know about storing tension there as I do it all the time and I know he does too….he will start the PT the first week of November…and we have a good PT Dr. who helped him a lot last time. Thank you for your healing prayers and for sharing your story with me…it helps when you can talk to another person who went through it too.

      Love n Hugs,

I am headed to your blog to see the map…and you are definitely in my prayers…I can only imagine…my Mom and I were caught in Portland, Oregon during the Columbus Day Storm back in the early 1960’s….can not remember exactly the year…maybe 1962??? I remember hearing the shingles blow off the motel onto the roof of the car and they were tile…when it hit we were at the restaurant next door and they locked us in the restaurent for several hours…we lost power and lines were down all over…and I remember it thundered and lots of crazy lightening all night….we were not on the coast but it was a hurricane….scary. Ok off to read your blog and sending hugs and luvs:)

Oh Marcey what GORGEOUS photos of the ocean from your getaway with WB. I’m sure this has been a most difficult time for both of you after his surgery – even the strongest of us can be “tested” through things like that. With you by his side, and his faith, he’s got what he needs to carry on and get back in the swing of life. Prayers for his continued recovery…..and thanks for sharing some of the beauty of the ocean landscape with us!
