The Heart Of A Writer…

The heart of a writer can grow very quiet…

DSC07152

With many thoughts, but no words…I have been stuck!

DSC01055

My heart has been peacefully quiet and yet…the writer in me keeps trying to write…but what do I write?

DSC06858

I should be out in cow camp right now where I only have my horse and cows to talk to and silence.

DSC07052

I’m not sure what I am feeling in words…not sure if they made the words I have felt the last few weeks.

DSC07071

Life can be incredibly interesting…and no, not ever complacent or the same ol stuff…life is to be lived with the ever changing adventures we all experience.

Pole Bending On Red

My life has never ever been quiet or boring or mundane…

Nope never a dull moment…

I think I am back…at least the words are flowing again…maybe…yeah, maybe:)

In the mean time…Yee-Haw!!! Whoop Yip-Yahhh-Ah!

Hello HRCG It is good to hear from you again! I am glad you got away for a few days. definitely you & WB needed a break.
I am sorry I do not have any leads on plaques. I would suggest just type something like cat plaques into search engine. Also are there any trophy stores in our area & around? They could probably do a plaque for you.
I finished the Trimethoprim for Bladder/Kidney infection yesterday. Feel pretty good all things considered.
I have found alot of stress lifted since Nylablue has gone. I was so burned out caring for her & she was so tired from all her illnesses. I find I am sleeping well now that I have Siddhartha 😉
Plus he sleeps with me & on me too, lol……
Wishing you & WB & Ellie, & Melody & all your 4 leggeds a peaceful & blessed Christmas.

Hello HRCG! I wanted to do a memorial for Nylablue that included Mingflower. It just felt right. Yes last Wednesday was bittersweet. At least I could bring Nylablue’s ashes home & have her ‘here’. I talk to ‘my girls’ alot & it helps with the pain & loss. I have not put up decos & will not. I want to just rest from all that.
I am going to foster a kitten & want to focus on him & seeing what comes of it.
I know just because you live on a ranch & have the life I wish I’d had does not mean there have no been sad times & bad times & loss. I try not to idealize things. I just feel your connection to the land around you & to G-d & to Nature & I can relate…
I hope the Flu leaves as quick as it appeared so you can get your place decorated….
My Viral Sinusitis has settled down & the bone flare-up is a ‘dull roar’ 😉
Wishing you a good week….please know I am there in spirit with my arm around you during the sad moments…
Our girls brought us together & for that I am eternally grateful also.
    Much love Sherri-Ellen x0x0

Hi Sherri-Ellen….I am so far behind. Last weekend we were able to get away for a few days which was very good for both of us. I am taking it slow this year too with decorations…the tree is enough. I am looking for a place to buy Minnie a grave stone or marker…something sweet and classy for my kitty angel girl…yet simple…do you know of a web site to look on that sells plaques for our animals? I am so glad that our girls brought us together too and my heart is with you. I know how much your new baby will help heal your pain and I am thankful that you found him:) Wish I was there to hug you and paw oat him…he sounds very sweet. I hope your health is much better now to…I am mainly tired and hope to get caught up with sleep if possible over the holidays. Sending you prayers always, huggies and tender wishes for a Blessed Christmas.

Dear HRCG: Your Mother sounds like she was a very special & loving woman. You sure had a wonderful family…lots of memories.
My Mother had serious mental illness & she rejected me once I was born hence why I had to be raised by Nanna & Zaida. My Father worked 2 jobs so he could provide for me while living up here with my Grandparents.
My Father tried for 17 yrs to make things work but in the end my Mother threw him out…thankfully my Nanna stood by me thru it all as did my Father.
As for replies I can relate. Sleep is hit & miss & the tears come at the oddest times & w/out warning.
Nylablue’s ashes came home today (Dec. 3rd) & altho’ I have not cried I feel so sad, so despondent. I did a Thankful Thursday blog; heart in my mouth…
They sure do leave their pawprints on our hearts & minds….

Hi Sherri-Ellen, I’m sorry it takes me so long to answer…I had a flu bug yesterday and today I am doing better just kind of tired. I need to get the tree up for Christmas so will work on that this week…can not believe it is around the corner…today we have freezing fog and very thick fog.
My life often sounds perfect but we had hard things in it too…not always easy but I always try to see the good and carry on…I’m trying hard to do that with Minnie’s life…I do have my moments and I know that is normal.
I am sorry that your Mom was not well…it sounds like your Dad tried hard. It must have been hard to understand why your Mom rejected you…that would hurt badly. I think your Grandparents were awesome and loving to take you…very special, they loved you lots! I lost one grandfather before I was born and the other when I was 3 years old…lost my grandmother when I was 5 and the other grandmother before I was born. I missed out on that part…but I had good parents that loved me and lots of cousins…of course now being an only child makes it quieter as one ages…I have cousins but as we all grew up we grew away from each other which was normal as distance does that. Holidays for WB and I are quiet as it is the two of us and this year Ellie…Minnie loved Christmas as Santa would bring her lots of fun stuff…I am sorry for the pain you had to carry with your Mom…I am glad that our kitty girls brought us together as new friends to share our grief with. I wish I had been home the day you received Nylablue’s ashes as I know it was both hard and good. I think that your reaching out with a Thankful Thursday was awesome:) Good for you! Sending hugs….

I am smiling HRCG reading about you & your parents.Your relationships sound idilyic…I had a wonderful relationship with my Father but nothing with my Mother for 10+ yrs. Wehn she did take me back it was too late & I did not bond to her & with her mental illnesses it was impossible anyway. I did have a good relationship with my Nanna & we had almost 5 years as grown ups together after my mother died in 1991 @ 61 yrs old of Cancer.
My Nanna would be 108 now…lol..she died at 89 yrs old in 1995. My Father died at 92 yrs of age in 2009. At least I had them in my Life. When I was so young we had only radio here also. So we played cards & cribbage & went for walks & on day trips & I was allowed to play outside & enjoy my childhood. Lovely memories. 😉
There has been no Sun here; just cloudy & snowy. I saw on the news your State got snowed on…it seems we are all in for a long Winter….
Wishing you & JB & all the 4 leggeds a lovely weekend.

I had a Nana too that was my Mom’s Mom…she was a great Grandma…Mom was 7 when her Mom let her live with her Aunt and Uncle who adopted her…nothing bad happened for her to live with them, she had always loved her Aunt and Uncle and Nana and Papa had some financially tough times. Nana’s brother (Aunt and Uncle) and his wife did not have children and they loved my Mom…looking back on old days it seemed you did what was best without hate as life was not easy. Mom was never bitter as she told me she was grateful and her adopted parents loved her…they gave her a good life and she loved them very much. She always kept in contact with her folks…but this was back when families stuck together. Respect, honor and love were more evident in life and in the world, I am not sure what happened to change things so different in our world today but it is very different. I was up too late when I answered this leaving out the good parts…I need to answer replies earlier…this week has been a bit and miss week with sleep…and hopefully sleep will come again. Yesterday was so hard with it being a week since I lose Minnie…she was my heart and I miss her so.

Howdy Hi there:) My blog time seems to be later these days…I’m not sure why I have so much going on in life right now, but time seems to fly by each day and before I know it, its next month! This time of year is tough for me as I lost both my parents during this time. I loved them so much and miss them even more…the years have softened the pain in my heart a bit but this time of year is just plain hard with the holidays on top of the grief. Thankfully the good times and the memories help carry me through. Being an only child and living on an isolated ranch we were close in heart as not having TV, I learned to play cards with Mom…and I learned how to go fishing from Dad…cleaning them too…yuk! Dad taught me how to drive a stick shift in his Scout along the primitive mountain road that ran beside Beaver Creek. Mom taught me to read at a young age and to always have faith and hope no matter how tough life could be. Without TV or radio or other people and things you become more in touch with your heart and with each other. I grew to see Mom and Dad as “people” and not just Mom and Dad, we actually talked and shared our thoughts with each other.
When they became ill I was so scared…yet, thankful that God moved us home from Wyoming the year before. I was with them through out the hard times of the illness and was able to help them. I will forever thank God for that as for being a rather old fashioned family of three that was “strong willed and tough, we did not let weakness show much”…we let down and showed it with each other…we talked about important things like life, feelings, fears, emotions, hope, faith and love…lots of prayers and lots of tears.
If my Dad was still here today he would be 100 this year and Mom would be 96. They were older parents when I came bouncing along:) I have been told I was the highlight of their life but truly they were the highlight of mine along with WB…and Minnie and Ellie and Melody too:)
In Ms. Sneaky Snowy Winter-Land news…we have snow! 5” and still snowing through tomorrow…Jack Frost could not stand it so he decided to bug us with super cold temps…oh well I always say it makes life interesting:) I like weather and things being changed up a bit!
Sending you and Nylablue big hugs…I am “thankful and blessed for meeting you both”:) Both Minnie and Ellie agree…Min-Min is sleeping on her blanket on the sofa and Ellie is on her bed right next to Minnie…adorable no doubt:) I’m sending up prayers for sunshine and warm days for you and Nylablue…enough so that she can sit in her condo and bask in warmth:) Huggies:)

It is Canadian Thanksgiving here; Happy Columbus Day to all of you there.
How is Minnie today?? I am so worried about her.
Even tho we love them so much one day they will have to leave us for Summerland & we will have to find a way to accept their going….I have been blessed with 18 wonderful extra months with Nylablue….
I am glad JB is on the mend & I pray he will be back in tiptop shape by end of year!

I’m sorry to be so long with getting to the blog…the last month has been hectic with WB and his healing….next PT will begin to get him back in shape. I have been so busy driving him and then in the office….crazy! So tonight we are to get some cold air from Canada and our temps will go from a mild 60 to 70 degree days down to 29 to 32 for highs and for lows at night we will have 13 to 17 degrees….and lots of snow by weeks end. Yesterday I mowed our yard without a coat and I still have flowers blooming like crazy! So odd for mid November here! Hope your weather is good yet….I am so very blessed to know you too Sherrie Ellen…hugs and kitty hugs for Nylablue too:) Prayers always:)

Hello HRCG & Minnie: I was wondering how you both were doing….
I am sorry you feel Minnie is nearing the end; I feel that way about Nylablue also.
There is nothing ‘wrong’ as such; I just feel her slipping away a bit daily…it is very subtle…I hope our kitties stay with us a while longer; if they can…..
Your Vet sounds alot like ours. he got upset the end of Sept about giving the depo shot. He told me this week he worries that with every depo shot he brings Nylablue closer to end of her life. Bless him…Nylablue has been able to enjoy another 18 months of life & so have I….
    A miracle in itself…
I am praying your hubby recovers soon; sounds like you are getting quite the workout…
I think of you often & pray all will be well soon.

Yes I pray with you that both our kitty angels stay with us longer too…I know Minnie wants to stay as she knows how much I love her…and I did have the talk with her…if you did not know her you would not notice what I have seen a few times and that is that she is off. She has been on the antibiotics for two weeks now and I saw a bit of blood yet today…so I am not sure if the meds are not working even though before they always did, but maybe her body has gotten used to them so they are not working as well. I plan to call the vet Tuesday to see what she thinks…Monday is a holiday here so I am sure they will be closed. I do worry over her just like I worry over WB…and he is doing ok but the recovery will take some time to heal him back to normal…and yes I am getting a good workout but that is good as I am getting in better shape:) I do pray for you and Nylablue that God would be in control and all would be well for you both…you and Nylablue have been such a blessing to each other:) God Bless You Sherri-Ellen and God Bless Nylablue too…and thank you God for the miracle of Minnie’s and Nylablue’s lives…thank you too for my friend’s life. Amen:)

Hello HRCG I am so relieved that your hubby made it thru the surgery & is home recovering. Do not apologize. I totally understand. I will add your husband to the prayer list…may his healing be qucik & steady…..
I am waiting for the day Annicka shows up at the Shelter. She was given away to another breeder…so I keep hoping she will show up. If not, you are right I shall see her again….at least I did give her a name. She is a Bluepoint Siamese & a beauty. I do not have any pix of her but I remember her like it was yesterday.
I am sorry Minnie’s back legs have given out. Please consult with the Vet because that usually means somethign is not working properly internally also. I am so sorry she is having such a rough time. She rallies because of your love…that is why Nylablue is still here. If she did not know love she would have ‘checked out’ long ago.
Minnioe is a wonderful cat & I know she is your soul cat…I am with you in spirit HRCG!!
    With affection & best wishes, Sherri-Ellen & Nylablue too ❤ ❤

Hey Hi there Sherri-Ellen and Ms. Nylablue:) I am sorry to be so long in checking in…the last month has flown by and often at night when I am washing dishes I remember that I have not checked email yet for the day….me?….yikes? And what gives with me…too much life stuff…we are yet in recovery as WB cannot lift more than 5 pounds…so me is getting her arms and bottom in better shape:) In my animal babies news Ms. Minnie is not any worse or any better but me feels that time is getting shorter but I may be wrong too. She has been on bladder infection meds for almost 8 days now and when she walks she kind of wanders all over and her tail head is more noticeable…so now I am worried it is more. I am talking to her vet on the phone often now…the vet does not want to stress Minnie as she knows how stressed Minnie gets when I bring her into to see her…so she may be coming out to see Minnie…I have loved that she understands Minnie and loves her too. Minnie is now 19 and a half years old! Her back legs are stronger now…they never gave out as in “gave out” but they are weaker as in jumping up on the usual things she normally jumps on and that makes me feel bad for her when I am not with her when that happens. How are you and Nylablue doing? I hope good and better:) I know that both Minnie and Nylablue are our soul kitties…and will be with us forever:) They both need to be chosen and loved..and we both choose them and love them lots:) Huggies and Kitty Loves…from me and Minnie

Oh HRCG this is such a coincidence we both named a cat Isabella…& Minnie still remembers her first name…I often wonder what Nylablue’s name was when she was in the Puppy Mill. Most people around here do not come up with imaginative names…maybe she did not even have a name.
After Mingflower had died I went to a Pet Store in town (closed down now) & there was a lovely Bluepoint Siamese there. The lady offered ‘her’ to me…when I asked her name I was told she did not have one!!! I was so shocked 😦
I went home & thought about a suitable name & returned to the store the next day & named her Annicka…she came right over to me & snuggled. It turned out Annicka was pregnant & I refused to take her as I had no experience with pregnancy in animals & it was too soon after Mingy’s passing to take on a big responsibility…
I never saw Annicka again. She had 3 kittens & supposedly she was ‘given away’…I did go back to the store to see her 3 kittens & they all were so sickly…it was then I went to the authorities & assisted in getting the place closed down. The By-Law Officers searched for Annicka but she had disappeared. I check the 2 shelter sites nightly hoping I will find her again. I feel I failed her…all I gave her was a name…
Oh my that was a bit of a novel…..
    Thank you for ‘listening’.
I am glad Minnie is doing well; she is such an amazing kitty girl; just like Nylablue…
Hope you had a lovely weekend.

Hi there Sherri-Ellen and Ms. Nylablue:) Sorry to be so long in answering…I have been sidetracked as my hubby had surgery this week….today is the first day he is home. He has a bad back and they fused more vertebra in his neck…this is the third neck fusion in 8 years…so now comes the healing part…no more than 5 pounds lifting the first month…then 10 pounds the second month…15-20 pounds the third month and at the end of the fourth month he can lift up to 35 to 40 pounds so it is a slow healing process. All last week we did ranch stuff that needed to be done for winter since he was having surgery this week…I am glad it is over and he is home:)
Annicka sounds beautiful like a very royal princess…she was beautiful I am sure…and you blessed her with his name, that was awesome! I am sorry that she disappeared but I know someday yo will see her again in heaven:) And I am glad that you got that pet store closed down too!!!
Minnie is so so…she has no strength in her hind end and she can not get in her litter box…she can put her two front feet in but that is it…I am not sure what to get for her so she can use her litter pan…if the sides are too low then we will have cat litter all over the place…she seems weaker in many ways and yet then she rallies and seems ok for a 19 and 1/2 year old kitty. She is eating, drinking etc. but her hips gave up or something…now that we are home I will call her vet and ask them about this. She is so very god and such a sweet heart kitty girl…I just want to give her as much as I can to help her and care for her….I love her so very much. I hope all is well with you and Nylablue…HRCG and Minnie and Ellie too:)

Hi HRCG!! I was thinking about you the past 2 days & wondering if you & yours were all right! Technology sure has cahnged our world…in alot of ways for the better. I would not know amazing people like YOU were it not for the Internet & computers…
Purrsia always comes when i call her AND she answers to her previous name which was Tia…I sang to her all the way home calling her Tia Maria….so if I start singing to her she knows it is me!
Mingflower’s eyesight was badly compromised so she had 30% near the end & she knew where I was at all times….
Nylablue is out in Condo & the crippled sparrow Hippy Hop is a few feet away eating seeds. They are adorable together….I missed photo op…..again….
I am down with Some sort of Flu. 101F fever. UGH! Nylablue’s Herpes Virus has flared up a bit; funny how we get sick with viruses in unison! LOL…
So glad you are back online…

Funny what you said about Purrsia being named Tia first…Minnie was originally named Isabella by me and I called her Bella for short…well over 19 and a half years ago…and she still looks to me when I call her “Bella…or Izzerbee”…she knows that was her first name with me. WB taught her to mooch…so then she became Minnie the Moocher…and I did not like that…and instead she became Minnie Mouse the Queenie of My House! She is the “Cat” who knows where it is at:) Ditto on the technology…I agree! Minnie is like Mingflower…her vision is nill…her hearing is too. But she knows me when my presence walks into the room and my smell…and so far she is content…and happy when I am with her. I hope you and Nylablue both get well soon:) Sending you both prayers and hugs…praying you all sleep well:)

I totally agree HRCG!! I was cat sitting yesterday for my friend upstairs. I found her cat Purrsia for her & met the cat twice & waas there to collect her when Ruth adopted her. I have been in the apartment maybe 3 times since last Christmas. When I let myself in yesterday Purrsia stopped for a second (realizing it was not Ruth) & then she ran over to me & rubbed my legs!!! She remembered me!! She let me stroke her & kiss her…did my heart good. 🙂
I am relieved Minnie has rallied. Nylablue is stable also. Our kitty girls are simply amazing!!

Hi there again finally…our email and internet was down for almost 5 days! I cannot believe how much technology has taken over our lives…ten years ago having email was sort of ok but who emailed me back then? And cell phones were for emergency if the roads were bad coming home so I could call WB or someone if I needed…now when the net is down we have a mini meltdown! Time has changed so much in our lives…the last twenty years even more has the entire world changed before our eyes.

We are yet doing okay here…I fret and worry about Minnie all the time trying to think of things I can do for her to make life easier…she is my heart. And Ellie is learning and growing up…becoming a very protective girl…and we like that:) She will always our sweet puppy girl:) I hope you are doing good Sherri-Ellen and that Ms. Nylablue is doing good too:) Minnie has some of those fancy treats and she loves them…especially the chicken ones:) And yes I totally know what you are saying about Purrsia…cats and all animals know us by our hearts and spirits…Minnie can’t see me now but she knows when I walk into the room, as she can sense that it is me, Mom. When people say animals do not know or do not feel, they are wrong as animals are soooo much more intelligent and intuitive than what we are…their lives depend on it and their senses are tuned in….

WOW!!! Minnie was truly amazing sitting with you. that was some trauma you underwent. I am so glad you came thru it. It must have been very frightening.
After my Modified Hip surgery Oct. 2005 Mingflower lwould not leave my side. We had an earthquake here 2 days after my surgery which she slept thru or so I thought. From that day forward she laid along my left side & right against the bandaged hip & purred & purred….I believe her purring was a form of healing because when I went for first recheck the Surgeon was surprised I had started healing so quickly & so well. My incision line went from over a foot in length to a 6 inch incision & healed perfectly & was totally straight. Granted Dr H. is a fabulous surgeon but I beleive Mingflower had much to do with the healing process. She got weaker as the year ended but she would not let go.
I carried from Xmas ’05 til late March ’06. She finally let go when I told her I was TOTALLY healed (which I was by that time). It was like she would not leave until I was restored to purrfect health. She was the best! Minnie sounds just like Mingflower. I think she will stay with you for as long as possible.
Even Nylablue has rallied 3 times since she got ill last April; I have had “The Talk” with her yest she stays with me. Amazing amazing felines!!!

Our animal babies are truly amazing….animals know so much more than what people credit them with. It is so very sad when people do not recognize their animals as intelligent and very perceptive….if a horse can feel one fly on its back, so they feel you even more when you are connected as their partner that they can trust. Minnie had a tough night a few nights ago but she too has rallied her strength and is her usual sweet self:):):) We are so very blessed:)

Our Summer is barely holding on altho it is supposed to be more summerlike next week. I sure hope so. It would make up for such a long cold Winter 😉
I so relate to you & Minnie. My Mingflower was my heart kitty & we spent 18 1/2 wonderful years together. She only left when her body failed her….living with Kidney Disease for 2 1/2 yrs. My Vet said he NEVER treated a cat for that long with that problem….a year was the longest he had seen a cat live with Kidney Disease. I truly believe it was our love for each other that kept her going. Also Mingy’s eyesight was not great near the end so I carried her for that reason alot. Mind you I never rearranged furniture so things were where she remembered.Nylablue is my soul kitty. She was unwanted & abused & neglected & I was also many many many years ago. I understand why she behaves as she does. I accept she has trust issues alatho’ she trusts me now 100%. It seems with her health issues we have bonded more which is amazing & beautiful in its own way.
I pray Minnie has alot more time with you & the same for Nylablue. I have no illusions of her being here in even a year. I make the best of each day with her & take care of her & am so grateful God has given the privilege of being Nylablue’s human as he did with Mingflower.
We are truly blessed HRCG!!! And I am so grateful we found each other so we can share the journey of Life together with our beloved felines.
    With admiration & love, Sherri-Ellen x0x0

I ‘love’ the good days 😉 Nylablue is stil having more of them than ‘bad’ ones so that is a bonus.

Yes we are very Blessed by God to have our kitty angels healthy for the moment and I pray healthy for the long run…I cannot imagine life without Minnie…she has always been a huge part of my life from day one…she just clicked in my heart…she is so very human and perceptive. She watches over me and when she senses something odd she will not leave my side even when I am clueless. I had some surgery in Dec. 2010, routine surgery for the reconstruction etc. It was a day surgery and we came home, 200 miles, the next day…all seemed well until I noted lots of swelling and bad black bruises and black and blue bruises. We were to go back for my pre-op and I knew something was wrong but even so I sent digital photos to my Dr. in Portland…her staff did not pass them on to her…and instead told me all looked fine and was healing. Well the night before we left I was propped up on the sofa as I needed to be propped up…and Minnie insisted on laying tightly next to me on a very skinny part of the cushion…she never left my side. The next morning we headed to OHSU in Portland, 200 miles one way….saw my Dr. the next day and she took me to emergency surgery due to the fact that the swelling and bruises were a larger blood clot…never had time to think about it…my poor hubby did. I came through it ok…but Minnie knew. She always knows…and we love her so much. Our bond too has gotten closer too…she knows she can trust me when I carry her and that all is well. She used to hate being picked up let alone carried…she was never a cuddle kitty…but she has been all heart instead…so now when I pick her up gently cradling her against me as I carry her to her food or to her water etc. she relaxes and keeps her claws in as she knows she can trust me to put her down safely…that is huge for her. Our animals are so very very connected to us…if only all people could know that and understand it. Sending you lots of prayers., hugs, thoughts and support:) Love you Sherri-Ellen and Nylablue:)

Still mid 90’s?? Wow. It is only in low 70’s here with a bit of humidity & loads of clouds. We have had a good spell of rain so the ground is moist & the grass is green again 😉
Oh dear Minnie…you are so sweet to carry her…I did this for Mingflower for the last 3 months of her Life & i do not regret it for a second. Once she told me she was ‘ready to leave’; I called Dr Dave. I hope Minnie has lots more time left…I know how much you love her…..
Nylablue has been up & down & is stable again. The Bowel Disease has calmed down & is under control but the Pancreatitis is still active…so Nylablue has good days & ‘off’ days. She is not in pain; just sleeps alot. At night she is alert waiting for Greyboy… 😉

Wow! No we are yet in the high 80’s or low 90’s…summer is trying to hang on…Minnie is my constant…I am so connected to her heart and she to mine…she has been through almost 20 years of life with me…I will carry her forever if I need to and I try hard to give her dignity and her respect…I pray over here daily and have for all of her life with me…I know God made her and I thank Him all the time for Minnie as she has brought so much joy in my life…she is doing better today again…eating, drinking again and all is well in her litter box…so that makes me feel very happy…I do think she took a tumble on the stairs but prob only a few steps and she was greatly confused being in the basement again…her food and L-Box was down there for many years and she used to love the TV room…loved to lay in front of the fireplace:) I know that Nylablue like Minnie knows how much we love them and how much we care…so glad that Nylablue is doing better again too:)

I hope rain comes & no fires ignite.
Nylablue is not 100%; she is losing her battle I feel. She is not in pain but she is not right either….
I am struggling with some things & I am doing what I can to just stay in today & not worry about tomorrow….

We are finally in the mid-90’s and life is better without too much heat! Days are much nicer now thank goodness! So far no rain…Minnie is going through a different stage too…she is more confused…forgets where things are but I am watching her and keeping life ok for her as I carry her most of the time…I do not want her to suffer and to live suffering due to not a happy life anymore….I love her so much as she has always taken very good care of me when I went through losing my parents and then BC.She is a blessed angel kitty girl and she has blessed us so much! It is very hard to watch our animals, our babies and best ever kitties grow old…sending you prayers and more prayers….hoping Nylablue is doing better this week:)

Yikes the temps have dropped into the 90’s….we would be roasting here with those temps!!! We have had a moderate summer which suits me fine.
I did not realize that Washinton & Idaho had fires…only heard of the Oregon fires.
I know in Northern Ontario (the province I am in) & in northern Alberta & British Columbia there are many fires….
I try NOT to think of the forest creatures & birds & any luvestock if the fires get to farmland….I would never stop crying then!
I pray too for firefighters & all people who help humans & animals…<3

Hi there:) Today we hit 92 degrees here but we are to hit 100 degrees again on Monday…August is usually hot hot…and we often have a few weeks of 100 degree hot temps…we do need rain to calm the fears of wildfires…the weeds and the grasses are very dry…it would not take much to burn. We have low humidity now and hot temps and no rain since…hmmmm, not sure…maybe May and maybe a shower in June? Sending you hugs and prayers for a peaceful weekend and that Nylablue will be healthy and that you too will be healed up and healthy:) Huggies from HRCG and Minnie and Ellie and Melody:)

110 F??????? I would not survive that kind of heat! I do better in the cold…you are right tho’ that Summer is far too short!!! 😉

Our weather has now dropped into the 90’s like 95 degrees or 98 degrees…we have been lucky so far as we have no fires close to us but we do have the blanket of smoke from the many fired in Oregon, Washington and Idaho…I feel badly when there are forest fires…I feel so badly for the animals and for the people who loose their homes…it would be so scary! I keep the firefighters in my prayers and also that God protects all the people that the fire involves as well as the animals of the forest….

Our hot is a dry hot so we have to watch for fires…so far we have not had a fire close by…I know the mountains had several from lightening strikes…the heat this year feels much hotter even though we have had up to 110 degrees…it feels like you are in a furnace that is blowing hot air on you…we are to hit 104 today…but before I know it summer will be gone and winter will slide in….ugh! HOLY BAKER’S DOZEN HRCG!!!! Temps between 101 & 108 F??? I am melting just thinking about it….I hope there will not be any fores either…We here always think a dry heat is less *hot* than a humid heat…I think it is a fallacy! Heat is heat…
I am glad you had a nice weekend with company despite the heat! We have had a bit of humidity but nothing major & temps around 76 F. Sunny & a light breeze….Now I feel guilty, lol….
Things here have been peaceful & calm (a welcome change) 😉

We can get so much humidity here we are all just dripping with sweat. It is quite unpleasant & makes breathing difficult too!
Our humidity comes up from the Southern states…thankfully we only have a few days at a time. Last year tho’ we had 6 days straight of high temps & humidity & that happened 3-4 times over the Summer. Neither Nylablue or I could actually sit out. That upsets me as Summer is short enough without having too hot days to enjoy..
I can imagine living in a higher elevation would be lovely…..
I live in a valley surrounded by 2 rivers so if the wind blows in off the Bay or the rivers it stays cooler 😉

Hi Sherri-Ellen and Ms. Nylablue! Hope your weekend was good. We had company and etc.We are about to get a big thunder storm…it has been like HOT here like an oven hot….71 at night and between 101 and 108 for the last days…it is to last for several days…and even when it breaks it will still be 99 or 97….too hot. A very hot wind has blown all day and it is settling to a very light breeze due to the storms coming…we are to have no rain but due to the winds, the hot temps, and the dry weeds etc. a fire could happen very easily so we are on a fire watch alert too. In all my years living here I do not even remember a wind like we had that was so hot….it made it hard to be stuck in this type of heat….and we do not have the humidity so that was another reason for the fire watch…besides the heat all is well here….hoing it is well with you too!

Weather here has eased a bit. We had a good thunderstorm yesterday & it cleared some of the humidity! How do you cope with high temps there? Do you have humdiity or dry heat? If we could have temps w/out humidity that would be great.
Yesterday (Monday) I had to take Nylablue for weekly treatment & there was high humidity. No A/C in car & just going across town & into A/C Vet place I had a whooping Asthma attack! I brought Inhaler just in case & good thing!
Today is not as humid however I stayed home. Been out on patio a few times but when I feel that pressure in lungs I come in where it is cooler.
LOL Minnie has her own sounds too…did you know Felines can make over 100 sounds as opposed to canines who make only around 20 different sounds?
I know with each cat I have had to learn a new ‘language’….
Nylablue does her EEOWWW sound that I think means she is in trouble & I find her sitting on her pillow & I think she is smirking! Can felines smirk??? 😉
    WE send **nose kissez** & ~~head rubz~~ } to you & Minnie.

We do not have a lot of humidity…we are more of a dry climate…thank the Lord! I would not want to live in humidity….ugh….it is awful to live in! No we just get super hot for a few weeks during the summer where you do not want to be out in the heat. It can be scary as with farm equipment in harvest just a small spark can get a fire going or lightening is nerve wracking as it has started fires in the middle of a hot summer night….we do have air conditioning now….when I grew up we lived in the mountains so it was cool up there and when we were here at the house we had a swamp cooler that you had to pack around….I like the AC much better:) Sending prayers and blessings your way:) Hugs too:) And kitty loves and rubs:)

Sunday here was sort of windy…not bad but did not want to hassle with it. This week will be nice as tomorrow is suppose to be up in the high 90’s and maybe a 100 degrees! That is almost too hot but in the evenings it will be nice for Minnie. Yeah Minnie sort of says Merowl-Merowl…and sometimes it is the Eeeowing like Nylablue and I know, it does sound like she is stuck or in trouble…and I run to see that she is ok and she is just sitting on her cushion Eeeowing! I think she likes to make me hop to:) I agree I love hearing her cat chat too:) Sending huggies and head pawt to Nylablue too:)

I am so glad Minnie went outside & had such a lovely time! My previous Siamese MingFlower did not have full eyesight & she was utterly terrified to be outside. I would carry her out onto the patio & she would sit for a moment & thedn dash back to the door. So I had to carry her around to take her out & she was very happy being carried, lol..
Nylalbue has been out in Condo the past few days & it looks like a good weekend for more Condo time for her & patio time for me!!!
We are looking forward to blogs about Minnie & pix too!!

The fourth one I think is an aerial of the Tri-Cities…I did not take that one, the chamber of commerce did…and I asked to borrow it. I have seen Tri-Cities lots from the air as WB used to have a plane…we would take off from the ranch and be in the city in 15 minutes…I was not a good flyer though as the heights bother me…LOL!

Hello HRCG: What a lovely image I have of Minnie in the grass with Ellie!! I am so glad Minnie is feeling better & got to go outside. I relate to ‘doing the outside thing’ with your 4 leggeds!
I let Nylablue out in Condo as much as possible. Today was nasty weather tho: cloudy; drizzling & humid yet a chilly breeze. She hounded me til I put her out….lol…We KNOW who is boss here…(not me apparently…)
Sometimes I can see the kitten in Nylablue when she is outside too…funny that…I hope tomorrow is a better day so Nylablue can have some proper Condo time!

And she rolled in the grass as well as ate a little bit of it…then she plopped down on the patio as the concrete was warm…she was so happy! It is raining here today so we will stay inside….hoping to have her out again with me soon. I took so many pictures and I plan to blog more on Minnie and share the pictures of her playing!
