Sky Paintings…Created By God…Captured By Hot Rod Cowgirl

A few nights ago I had the chance to capture one of God’s incredible sunsets that we are blessed with out here in Juniper Canyon.

Sky Painting By God

We have a very artistic and creative God full of beauty and grace, as He paints the sky with…

Hot Rod Cowgirl

Ever changing colors of golden orange, rusty reds, majestic purples, shades of blue  and glimmering gold.

And with a stroke of His hand…

He creates a burnished beauty in the luminous evening sky above.

And in the blink of an eye He changes it with magical colors of pinks and blues adding ethereal light.

Enchanted inspiration stirs my creative spirit…

As I stand in awe on a warm summer night.

Beauty that can only come from “Heaven” above:)

As the sky was on fire…

Ever Changing…

Moments of wonder and divine creativity….times in our lives when we can’t help but stop and take notice of the beauty around us that God has masterfully brushed into our lives. Watching a gorgeous sunset with magical light and color that fills your soul with wonder…as we create our own moments to remember.

I love summer evenings, when the first stars come out, the warm glow of sunset still stains the rim of the canyon, while yet coloring the western sky.

The moon was visible for this shot, a pale white globe, while the sun slowly sets on another incredible summer night in Juniper Canyon.

Sunset

If you look around you…you will see the creative gifts of God…the artistic beauty of His love for us is everywhere:)

Happy Sunday!

Absolutely awesome paintings by the Master as He uses the sky as His canvas. You captured this moving scene so very well. I, too, am in awe of the art above us. Every day presents a new image to marvel at. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, it was and is always an enjoyable treat to me when I can run outside and capture God’s artistic sky art:) I also love it when I can capture His world…He was a true master in creating so many beautiful places! I love the mountains and I love the ocean…we were at the ocean for several days recently and I often stood quietly watching the incredible waves and I thought how can people not believe in God…His timing with the tides and His incredible waters brought me such peace:) I love capturing landscapes and wide open skies:)

Thank you for following catnip! Not sure how you found me but I am glad you did because it led me to you. This post is awesome! I remember Easter morning of this year my husband and I were sitting on the porch waiting for sunrise. It was one of the most beautiful and unusual ones I had ever witnessed. It looked as though God dipped his fingers in Christ’s blood and stroked the sky with his Heavenly paintbrush.

Just reblogged this on catnip. Following you, too:>)

🙂 I feel the same about your blog posts! I love the desert…it is magical, incredibly beautiful and oh the landscapes are amazing:) I loved the light of the desert and discovering what most people do not know….the desert is not flat, but full of glory…mountains and beauty!!! Nevada is an incredible state…and the high desert there is so worth it. One of the best times I had gathering cattle in the desert was at the base of the Steens in Oregon…you do not see the many hills you go up and down when you look out across the landscape when you drive through the desert but they are there…I love the feeling it makes in my heart:) Wyoming was the same…we had a high desert outside of Pinedale where we first turned cattle out on in the spring…it too was incredible:)

I’ve never seen the high desert in Oregon but I’ve heard that it is as beautiful or more than Nevada. I didn’t know you had a Wyoming connection. Did you live there for a while? Your life is quite fascinating, so rich in experience and tradition.

I know exactly what you mean about the difference between perception and reality wen it comes to landscape: looking at the land vs. actually traveling over it. I’m amazed at how many people look at me strangely when I talk about how much I love the high desert. They perceive it as very one dimensional. But most of them have never been blessed to actually experience it. Yet.:)

Yes the high desert around Central Oregon is pretty as is the one around Jordan Valley and more the southeast part of Oregon…the Owyhee Desert is amazing as is Owyhee Damn…we have boated on it….it is 50 plus miles long and you often feel that you are in the Grand Canyon…my husband grew up in Vale Oregon which is on the edge of the Owyhee Desert….he spent many years out there and speaks of it often. I was impressed with it in just the few times I have traveled over it with him.

We lived in Wyoming for a few years managing a large cattle ranch….it was 110 miles long. One the sough end of it you had the high desert between Pinedale and Rock Springs and on the high end of it you were often up behind Yellowstone at 9500′. Incredible country…beautiful isolated and took my breath away no matter where we went. We lived at 7500′ elevation and my view was the Wind Rivers and Gannet Peak which was the highest peak in WY. at 14,000′. The south end acreage in the high desert was close to South Pass…when we rode out there gathering cattle etc. you did not see power poles or any sign that it was still not 1850…I would imagine what the early settlers thought once they made it over South Pass only to see the vast stretch of desert a head of them and the Wyoming Mountain Range before them. I loved that time seemed to stand still out there:)

I have not gotten to see the Nevada desert as much as you have but the little I did see I thought it was amazing. The desert speaks to your heart and it is magical with the various light and landscapes:) The desert or isolated places are spiritual to me as they are so beautiful…I love seeing God’s touch and His presence in landscapes:)

I have traveled in the west but not as much as you. I am however touched much in the same way as you by the profundity of the beauty of God’s Kingdom and the desert is such a sovereign space in a world where man has usruped almost every inch.

My husband’s family also lives in Oregon but closer to the coast. Next time we vist I must see if wee can’t detour into some of the areas that you love:)

I could listen to your stories all day. I love that you have the continuity of heritage, experience and tradition in the west. My own relationship with the west is much briefer. I came here as a young woman, the only member of my family to leave New England. However, the west is my home now and I do so love it:)

The Oregon coast is also beautiful…the ocean entertains me for hours just watching it:) Again it can quiet my spirit and I sit in awe of how God makes it all work:) You truly do have a Westerns heart and spirit:) I would like to someday tour the East coast…but this side of the Rockies are my home:)

The Maine coast where I grew up is also beautiful. When I was a child my parents built a cottage on the beach and that is where we spent our summers. At that time, southern Maine was lightly populated. So spending my summers in solitude at the beach is what gave birth to my love of nature. That my grandparents who owned property and loved nature.

Maine has changed a great deal. Southern Maine is densely populated and it is difficult to find solitude there now. It is still very beautiful though.

Oh how fun to spend summers on the ocean:) I would have loved that…yes the solitude gets you in tune with nature and the beautiful surrounding. I laugh these days that so many children do not know how to entertain themselves. Living out in the country all my life has taught me how to be alone and how to entertain myself. I have friends that are amazed that I do not get bored out here…I admit I will feel housebound at times in the winters…but not enough to not love living here. It is good you have the memories of Maine before it became populated….I know you must have some truly wonderful memories of growing up there and the summers on the ocean:)
