In A Nano Second, A Blink Of Life Evaporates…

In a nano second, a blink of life evaporates…

as it trickles through the hourglass of time.

Sunday dawned a typical day for us..

Wild Bill and I had a list of stuff we wanted to do around the ranch…

Summers here are my favorite time of year to be outside…

I love being outdoors carrying my camera along to grab photos of life to capture and share .

Early Sunday afternoon we were formulating our plan of attack, when I noted I felt light headed.

I told WB that something was wrong and I needed to sit down.

As much as I tried to shrug it off, I felt sick to my stomach…breaking into a clammy sweat, WB called for help as he thought I was having a heart attack or a stroke.

The paramedics arrived shortly and Life Flight landed down at the end of our horse arena, I was loaded into the helicopter, WB was already on the road to the hospital to meet us when we landed.

The rest is history…lots of tests and luckily for me it was not a heart attack or stroke…instead I was diagnosed with severe vertigo.

I am very thankful it was not a heart attack or stroke

As life slowly trickles through the hands of time…

Hang to your loved ones and live life…

Thank you so much for your encouraging words and hope…I need them. I have good days but I am not there yet…I’m me but I still get off balance and unsteady…sometimes nauseated but mostly do not feel like me. My hubby is awesome, he drives me everywhere…when you live out in the country like I have always done, being able to go to town is your escape when you need it…the last time I got to do that was the end of May. In the middle of this I also had wrist surgery and it went well…my wrist is stronger than my other one…so grateful for that! Thank you for stopping in…I have not kept up with my blog…I get so tired from having to focus hard all day with every step that at night I usually fall asleep…miss writing and hiking the hills for good pictures…and I miss you all….thank you and I’m sending blessings to you too:)

Thank you much for your thoughts and kind words. This summer did not turn out how I had it planned but I am getting better day by day. About two weeks ago I woke up one morning and I felt like me again, I could walk straight, talk without slurs and I felt good again! I had one day since then that I felt off…but I came back from that…slowly but surly, I hope to be climbing the hills again with my camera and Ellie…snapping pictures to share, while adding words to my blog, to share life here with my friends….thank you:) Your thoughtful remarks gives me encouragement and hope:)

Oh HRCG I am so sorry you have Severe Vertigo!!!! As I started reading I was getting more & more scared….I am relieved WB is all right & that your heart is sound also….
It seems so unfair that you have Vertigo; you live such a ‘good’ life!!! As P SH says “PHOOEY!!!”
I will pray for you dear friend!
I love the pix of Dasher, Dottie, Fly Bear & Ellie Belle!!! They are such beautiful dogs. I bet they were totally freaked out as you were whisked away in the ‘whirlybird’!
Please rest & take things easy & G-D willing, this Vertigo will go away!
Lots of ((((hugs)))) Sherri-Ellen & ***paw kissesss*** Siddhartha Henry xxxxxx

I’m so glad you went to the hospital and that the diagnosis was vertigo. I had the exact same symptoms 8 years ago and I did have a heart attack. Fortunately I went to the hospital and had 3 stents inserted and have been well ever since.

How scary with the heart attack on top of the vertigo! It was the weirdest experience I ever had and it came on so fast without warning. We knew something was very wrong and had to go to the hospital! Have you had vertigo since then or did it go away on its own? I am so glad you are now healthy and thriving and surviving as I like to say:) Hugs:)

Thank you for your concern and also sharing! It helps to hear from others who have gone through vertigo….I feel unsteady and right now I can’t do much of anything like drive or walk outside alone etc. I hope and pray that it will go away. My dr. told me this is the worst case she has seen in her practice….but I am hoping to get over it so she can say and it was the worst vertigo she ever saw but she got over it! What causes flare ups? My allergies have been worse this spring….they said they do not feel it is the crystals in my ears being dislodged but a possible ear infection even though I can not feel it….weird.

It is a variety of things. Mine seems to be a combination of severe allergies triggering severe sinus conjestion/swelling. which triggers my cluster headaches. which causes nerve inflammation in my brain which leads to the chronic component. I usually end up on steroids as well as my allergy meds and sometimes valium which I am trying hard to avoid this year since I am not allowed to work on since my job at the hospital is so high risk. I am so sorry. I hate how it feels and feel really sorry for you since you are new to this whole horrible issue. I feel “punch drunk” alot most days right now and know it is just a matter of time before it will be bad enough that I will be off of work with it. It gets this bad every couple of years for me.

I’m sorry for you too! We both had something very weird happen to us as mine gave no warnings. One minute I am fine and the next second I was dizzy with the room spinning…I hope this year will be better for you and that the usual vertigo goes away. I do feel off on the meds…and like you, I just want my life back to normal:) Hugs: and Keep me posted and likewise I will you too so maybe we can figure this vertigo thing out!

    Marcy,

Thank you for filling us in on your experience.  It must have been so frightening for both you and Bill! I cannot imagine one of you without the other.  I have heard vertigo is very difficult to live with so I hope you find a solution soon.  One person I know had treatments hanging upside down!

We wish you improved health and lots of wonderful photo ops this summer!

    XO,

    Ken and Paula

Thank you both for your concern and care:) It was scary and it came on fast, really fast. Neither of us knew what was happening but we knew it was not good. Thankful it was not a stroke or heart attack and the vertigo is difficult for us. I can’t drive or even walk out to feed my horse as my balance is off and I feel like a ding dong! Very unsteady and the meds make me feel weird too…hoping and praying for the vertigo to go away as soon as possible:) How are you guys doing? We were just talking about you a few days ago wondering if you are still doing the photo class and the times you have gone shooting cool and different shots….I still love your bridge one Paula from a year ago….love both your photos. If you are up our way….please come see us:)

Do you know what caused the vertigo? It seems to be a not uncommon problem among people our age and no one seems entirely sure what causes it. I’m glad you were smart enough to go to the hospital and are dealing with it. And I hope they figure out what’s causing it and can fix it very soon!!

No I have no idea….have not had a blow to the head so they feel it is not due to the crystals being dislodged…it came on in seconds literally…all was fine and then boom it went crazy! Mornings are best for me and maybe it is due to sleeping all night or? As the day wears on I feel more unstable and dizzy….praying for it to go away! Hoping it will as soon as possible. I am to have a much needed wrist surgery a week from tomorrow…I have bone on bone and I have waited on the insurance to approve my dr. for the surgery…I have to put it off….but not sure with me being unstable.

I am so glad you are OK (not a stroke) but vertigo can be very debilitating – I’ve had BPPV, diagnosed by an Ear Nose & throat Doctor – (http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/vertigo/basics/definition/con-20028216) and was successfully treated for it at a rehabilitative clinic – a series of maneuvers designed to “right” the little crystals that were “out of line” — the treatment worked and I am fine. Much better than a life of anti-vertigo meds that made me feel wonky. Your dogs are so beautiful and I always love your pictures, peace and blessings to you my friend!! MJ

I am so glad that you are ok too! Vertigo is un-nerving and the drugs make me feel wonky too! They told me mine is not the crystals but a possible infection that I can not feel…that sounds odd to me but well ok…praying hard for it to do away. Feeling unbalanced and dizzy is weird as I have always had great balance and been in strong shape…this makes you feel weird weird. Did yours come on fast? Sunday was a great day and I felt good….then boom it came on fast with the light headed feeling and the room spinning…thank you for sharing as it helps to hear from others who have had it or have a loved one who had it….hugs:)

So glad you are alright – vertigo is tough I know……many years ago my sister had horrible attacks to the point she couldn’t even walk around her house without feeling too dizzy and nauseated – she was diagnosed with Meniere’s Disease; extreme vertigo. Took meds for a while then was able to get it under control by totally eliminating some things from her diet like salt……anyway, I do hope you will be alright and the vertigo will correct itself. Take care!

Hugs, Pam, Angel Sammy and Teddy too

Thank you for sharing your sister’s vertigo! It helps to hear from those who know about it or have experienced it. My Dr. told me that my case is the worst one she has seen in her practice. No clue why it came on or the cause…it is more like your sister’s though as it is not the crystals being moved etc. Never had an ear infection but I wonder if that is what it is….have had seasonal allergies the last month. I feel unbalanced as I walk around the house, Bill holds on to me…I am to have a wrist surgery in a week so not sure if I will do it now or wait a bit longer. Praying the vertigo will correct itself too….thank you much Pam and Angel Sam and Teddy too:)
