Happy New Years…2016 Has Arrived!

Happy New Years!

DSC00398

I hope your brand new year takes you on glorious adventures, full of fun and joy with many blessings on you and your family…and on your life!

DSC05407

This morning as I looked out on a brand new year, I thought of my Great Grandmother Anne Marie looking out the same kitchen window at the same view wondering how she felt on a brand new year here in the 1920’s.

DSC03009

Was she like me…did she wonder a bit with a tad bit of worry…but with a hopeful heart…did she embrace life here?

Scanned Image 2

I thought of my Mom looking out the same kitchen window and wondering what the brand new year would mean to her and to her hubby and of course her ding-dong daughter as she became a teenager…did she smile or did she feel like time was speeding by too fast.

DSC07153

With every year that I live here, I appreciate my heritage, the memories…both sad and happy and I know but I know God has me in His hand.

scan0023

We are not to spend time looking back on what was or what could have been…we are to move forward and onward, living each day one at a time…its hard to do, but when we let go of the past, life flows forward with good stuff…if we trust that it will…it does!

DSC01869

A new year brings a fair amount of creative wonderment of what we could do and what we will do…

CCI00001

I pray this year will be fruitful, with great blessings on our lives filled with joy.

DSC05341

If I begin to worry about whats ahead this new year I hear my favorite scripture…and God speaking to me saying, now remember cowgirl, you are to trust Me!

SONY DSC

“For I know the plans I have for you “declares the Lord” plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future, then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

DSC02176

Amen! I can attest that this is very very true!

SONY DSC

May 2016 be a year of great blessings in your life…may it be filled with joy, laughter, hope always and love…may it be a year you will see your dreams come true!

HRCG and her gang are over and out for now but never for long:)

My Nanna was widowed when she was barely 30. My Grandfather was murdered & his body found & brought back to the house Feb. 12th, 1933. It was my Mother’s 3rd Birthday. Unfortunately it messed my Mother up & the entire family. Harry had been missing since mid November 1932. So the family got closure but the absolute shock must have been horrifying. Somehow my Nanna continued on with help from her Mother, Sarah (my Great Grandmother/Bubba). So I come from a long line of tough women!
You heard a meadowlark?? I saw a Red Tailed Hawk today & the Pigeons have not even come for their seeds, so they must be hiding out. It has been snowing again today…I like days like this….I can get blogs read & commented to & do some cleaning & watch some TV & hang out with Siddhartha Henry…..
Sending you prayers & love Sister over …

I can’t imagine how hard that would be….so much pain and heartache. You do for sure come from a long line of tough women:) Your snow sounds beautiful! Our weather this last week gave us two days of sunshine which felt like Spring…..its coming:) It made my day yesterday as Ellie and I were able to get out and walk some….I did the windows and did not have a coat on!!! It was glorious….gave me Spring fever:)
Love you too Sister….and love your almost grown kitty boy…prayers always for your health and for Prince Siddhartha’s health too:)

I agree about my Nanna….she was a tiny woman but had such strength of character & spirit. She even ‘home schooled’ me b4 that was even a word, lol.
I could print my entire name at 4 years of age. She taught me how to read & had me reading Charles Dickens @ 9 years of age. We talked about G-D & Nature & she was my best friend besides my Father. I was so blessed.
Last night (Friday it warmed up enough to rain for 5 hours straight). Flash freeze overnight & it has snowed all day today! I LOVE Winter!!! A walk would be nice tho’….
Sending you ((hugs)) & blessings, Sherri-Ellen

She truly does sound like one of God’s angels on earth:) She sounds brave and wonderful…and I bet you are a lot like her:) We have had more rain and fog off and on…I did hear a meadow lark today and told Melody and Ellie…spring is coming! I would your winters as I like all four seasons! I loved Wyoming’s weather as it was crazy but incredible…truly stirred my heart in a deep way. It was one of those places that you felt right at home…love and prayers for my sister up yonder and {{{{hugs}}}} Kitty kisses and sweet cuddles to Purrrince Siddhartha!

My Nanna was pure love. She was wife to a man 20 years her senior who was chronically ill & then took a 4-5 month old baby: me! Never complained about her own Rheumatoid Arthritis…..
Appointment cancelled. We have had snow for 4 days & nights….at least 31/2 feet of snow….more in outer areas. Town was shut down 🙂

My Nanna had a full life & a lot of heartache but she was a trooper & rarely complained. she had a quiet dignity about her & so much patience…..I am nothing like her, hahahaha!!!
Siddhartha henry’s former Mum came to visit today & she says she can see the change in him since last month! He has calmed down a lot! I understand him more now also.
I am all right…just in alot of pain. I see Doctor on Monday…. I am not sure it will go well…..
Prayers always to you & yours HRCG!

Really connected to the big picture of life. Pretty rare these days. Might be one of causes of society’s problems? Enjoy those luxury of those views!

I know what you mean…and I agree about societies problems. Out here where we live it used to be different. Our community is small…we all used to get together for holiday dinners and the women used to meet once a month….we used to organize a yearly Turkey Shoot so we got together each month to discuss that but really it was a time of connecting….all ages. The Turkey Shoot died because of laws and insurance. Many that came to the Shoot also brought along beer etc. We did not serve it but we could not patrol several hundred people way out here. So that tradition is sadly gone now. I remember my mom being involved in it as well as me after I grew up. I think too that tech has intervened making email easier to stay in touch but it looses the personal human aspect of connection….and we are made to connect….

My Nanna was an amazing woman. I miss her still to this day! She taught me so much about Life & living & following my intuition.
I think it was just too much energy because today Siddhartha Henry has been a ‘purrfect’ angel….I have played with him a bit more also. With the Arthritis flare-up I am feeling very rough & playing is even difficult.
I think he realizes just how much pain I am in….whatever calmed him down I am happy 😉

She sounds like a sweet beautiful angel Nanna….I’m glad to her that tiger boy has settled down more…I do remember Minnie having kitten energy spurts until she was between 2-3 and by 3 she had settled more…I know he knows as he can sense it and feel your pain just like Minnie did with me anytime I was not well…I think mostly with him you will deal with kitten energy for a few more months, or years yet….but he will begin to settle more just give him time…he will. Please take care of you gf….be careful and call your dr. as I worry for you.I know as we age how quickly our health can change….and no we are not old just wise:) Love n Hugs…..Prayers Always:)

It ‘clicked’ when my nanna asked me to move home a month B4 she passed away…she knew I needed to be ‘home’.
Thank you for the pryers…I need them 😦 My body is wracked with pain & it gets harder to appear happy & carefree.
Siddhartha Henry is having behavioural problems again (or is that still?)
It is not his bowels; just him & it is not very good. I am not sure how to progress. I am very sad…..things were going so well *sighs*
Thank you for being our friend.

Thank you my friend:) It is a blessing as when I have times of struggle, I stop and remember those who went before us…I think our personal history and also our American history gives us the strength when we are confronted with life stuff…they did it and made it work and so can we:) I admit I draw strength knowing my mom and grandma and great grandmother made it work here…and when I whine I remember their lives and the sacrifices they made for my life here…and God reminds me too!
