Golden Days Of Summer….

Golden days of summer is dedicated to those dealing with freezing temps and bitter cold…along with snow and ice…and nasty winds producing impassable drifts…in other words Old Man Winter.

SONY DSC

I gathered a few favorite photos from last summer and fall…I hope they will warm you up with some encouragement that soon…those warm days of summer will return!

SONY DSC

Our patio is our hang out place during summer months…

And dog day afternoons:)

Spring and Summer are coming soon to you!

I miss you kitty girl…my sweet Min-Mouse…forever you are in my heart…and someday we will be together again my sweet kitty angel girl.

SONY DSC

My flowers last summer went viral…and were amazing!

And Ms. Ellie Belle…she is with me all the time. She is 100% Australian Shepherd and I am her herd…

DSC06374

She seeks to protect me so she always walks in front of me checking things out…and she goes into defensive kill when she senses danger of any kind. We love this girl lots…she has a beautiful heart like Minnie…I think Minnie sent her to be with us.

Here’s hoping the spring and summer of 2015 will be warm and beautiful with incredible skies and weather!

Wishing You A Happy Snappy Spring

Welcome and I am glad you found me. Minnie was so much a part of me…somehow our hearts were connected from the time I found her….she was about 5 weeks maybe and we bonded immediately…it was a blessing to us both:)

Yea! I am glad to hear you are having some nice weather too:) It is 70 degrees here and almost too nice for this time of year but I a not complaining! I love the sunshine and the warm days….and ditto on the walk with Speedy:) Ellie and I are doing that this weekend too. Ahhhh, we who love our pets like family are more blessed that those who don’t…we get to look forward to that wonderful reunion with “all” our beloved pets. I love each one with my entire heart…and like you I have lost so many…but each day, means we are one day closer to seeing them all once again:)

I moved back to Owen Sound when I was just about to turn 40 in Dec. 1995. I still was quite mobile & able to walk up to 2 miles a day even with Fibro & Arthritis. By 1999 I was losing mobility & getting weaker but I had Kevin to help me. Then he committed suicide in 2003. Jon swooped in to be with me & he was a help until his mental health issue reared its ugly head. Then the near fatal assault Sept of 2006 & I have been struggling just to survive ever since. Jon has been a financial & moral support since 2008 til present day. He is in the next BIG town up the Pennisula.
I have offered to move back to my Sister’s to help with rent etc but it turns out she ‘feels’ I am a ‘liability’ to the family & has decided to ignore me totally (in the hopes I will fade away…) My Niece filled me in last month & I was heartbroken again. My own Sister has turned her back on me.
I have decided to stay here in town & do the best I can. Feral rescue ladies are helping me with Siddhartha Henry (appts; trips to pet food store; even offered to loan $$).
I refuse to give up!!!! Country girl in my ❤ always!
Thanks for listening to my mini rant.
Let's think of Nylableu & Minnie Mouse snuggling together in spirit watching over us.
    Love & (((HUGS))) Sherri-Ellen ❤

Oh HRCG what a lovely blog post!!! I feel warmer just looking at the photos!!!
LOL…..we had another 8 inches of white snow here plus drifting so I could barely shovel the path clear. I used to love Winter….I still do but I am having trouble with the shovelling & ice & walking…
INovember until April is a L-O-N-G time to go without Sunshine & patio time 😉
I know you miss Minnie Mouse as I miss Nylablue. They are still with us in spirit & we have Ellie Bellie an Purrince Siddhartha Henry to keep us company & protect us!!!
A ‘happy snappy’ Spring; I am so there!!!!!!!! 😉
    Love & ((((HUGS)))) Sherri-Ellen 🙂

Yes I can imagine it would be hard to clear….there are lots of things that are getting harder for us to do too…and it stinks at times! I think living in the country as a women you become very independent and when life ages you, it is frustrating. We were here for my parents and took care of things for them…always tried to do right with respect and honor with our parents.
I miss Minnie….she was such a part of me and life…I miss her kitty antics and her beautiful heart. Ellie Belle does help…she is truly a blessing girl and so very sweet. I know Minnie sent her:)I am wishing you sunshine and warmer temps…love you and Henry lots and lots:)

Thank you much:) Me is ready for summer too:) The last picture was the moon coming up…it was what we call a harvest moon. I knew it was a risk as I was told capturing the moon is impossible as it will look like a flashlight in the sky…however, I always seek to try it anyway…and it came out ok…it is a true capture of a beautiful summer moon from last summer:) Wishing you a happy warm sunshiney week ahead:):):) With lots of blue skies too:)

Thank you much my friend:) It is the same here as we all want summer to come but after a few weeks of 100 degrees we want the cooler temps of fall too! Anymore though I do not mind the heat as I am always cold in the winter months no matter how I bundle up! I hope you get some nice fall rains that will wash the hot heat off your garden:) Do the roos go to the mountains for the summer or?

Yep same here a few 110 days and i crave winter and a stodgy rib sticking roast hahaah 🙂 the roos are still within our large street area but they move to find grasses ..there are 8 11 acre or so properties in our street and they go with the flow..they get most of their water from grasses so when they dry out they follow the dams..our dam has had a lot of visitors as the waters edge is covered in their giant footprints 🙂 as the grasses get sweeter they come closer to the houses 🙂

Hi there! I am late answering due to crazy life…we should not be as warm as we are…we have had major winter and snow in March but this year my trees budded out the end of January…it has been way too warm with no snow or winter moisture…on one hand you think yea it is warmer but growing up as a farm or ranch girl you know it is not good at all. Would love to have your roos to watch and see their tracks…we have horse prints, cattle, and various coyote prints…along with deer and elk. Wishing you a Happy Snappy Week!

How lovely to see some “brighter days” – we’re still in the snow here and this morning it’s ONE DEGREE……Spring and certainly Summer seem so very far away. Your photos warm my heart…………………..

One degree does not sound good and with snow! Our winter has been odd for here and I worry that it will be a dry summer…our mountains did not get the snow and we have not had enough moisture. Today we have blue sky with a few clouds…it still gets cold at night with frost but our daytime temps have been between 55 and 65 degrees. I’ll try hard to convince mister blue sky and warmer temps to visit you with warmer days enough to melt that ick snow:) Huggies to you….

Thank you much…I know what you mean with sunny blue sky, compared to sunless blah gray sky…sometimes here we will have weeks of blah gray in winter and it makes you feel blah and finally it clears up with blue sky:) Always makes me feel so much better:)

Life in our small corner of Oregon is isolated…I grew up on a large cattle and wheat ranch, as over here that is what you have! My hubby builds and restores cars and he is good…incredibly so…we have customers from all over the world bringing us their vehicles to restore and or modify…we love what we do. Eastern Oregon has lots to offer… it has wide open spaces and incredible skies with lots of life to capture and I love doing just that when I can:)

I stay in india. Specifically in bangalore. Weather here pleasant . i work as a senior software engineer. its a busy life . materialistic. Life seems to be like rat race for most of the people here . cost of living is little high when compared to other cities in india. But besides this india is a wonderful country known for its tradition and culture and heritage..

You are blessed to know a part of the world that I do not. You may laugh but I have hardly traveled out of the Pacific NW. My world is much smaller than yours. My goal with photography is to take the pictures and write the words that tell the story:) Telling the story with the photo is my goal:) We have good weather too…and you are right on as life is a rat race for all people….no matter where we live! And I love tradition and heritage:) I or we honor it here too:)
