Calling Hot Rod Cowgirl…Come In Please…Can You Copy Good Buddy? Where Are you?
I’m here…I’m here! Life has me sidetracked and time is stuck in warp drive…propelling me into some alternative universe…a universe that I have never seen before….a universe like no other…its been a month since I blah blah blogged you…Holy Cow!
I must be in “Another dimension…a dimension of sound…a dimension of sight…a dimension of mind.
A journey into a wondrous land of imagination called the Twilight Zone” to not be blah blah-ing you about something!!!
My hubby WB, had surgery mid-September that was not planned…it was another dimension called medical surgery which was over 5 hours long…a long time to wait for Ms. Worry Wart here! I hoped and prayed all would go well and it did:)
I’m still a bit tangled up from worry but WB is already making a full recovery and will be good as new:) Having our loved ones go through medical issues is one of the hardest and scariest parts of this life we all lead.
And summer flew by faster this year…I could not believe how fast time flew! The only way to show you our summer is to invite you to hop in and fasten your seat belts…you can hang on tight to the OS handle…and we’ll do a quick recap via pictures that I captured of the summer of 2014!
Getting ready for the cameras…three professional videos were filmed at HSL this summer of several vehicles that we built.
Lots of special beauties in this line up!
WB was giving me the stink-eye as I told him he missed a spot…on my car:)
And here comes Camera #1…
Are we good to go Nathan?
Stay tuned as the videos are currently in production with Chris and Corbin at CAPPS Broadcasting with the hope to have the first one done in the next few weeks! I’ll keep you posted!
And before we move on…Thank You Chris and Corbin for believing in us and taking the time to see for yourself what Holton Secret Lab is about! CAPPS Broadcasting ROCKS!
And then July blew in with hot hot hot temperatures! As I captured this shot, a flock of birds took off…they look like dots in the photo as it was taken a long distance away. I need to shop for a telephoto zoom lens as I often have many of our native birds show up in my photos…it’s always cool to see them take flight.
Two weather fronts moved into the NW from different abnormal directions just as we were getting into July…they collided, creating some crazy weather leading us into record-breaking heat in July and August, triple digit temperatures lasting for weeks. Not only did we have the heat, we had nightly lightning shows and clouds that were unusual…which was great for obsessive camera girl!
A few minutes after the first shot above, only from a different direction…you can see the layers of clouds and the two different fronts…it was all very odd to see the fronts, the massive clouds and the weather!
We had fire in the skies from wildfires all over the West, as summer went into hyper-drive with record-breaking heat and seriously dry conditions with low humidity, which is fire weather conditions. Having lived here forever, I have never felt heat like we had this summer. It was like a hot blow torch each time you stepped out the door.
Just as summer was heating up, good friends Kevin and Pat with their huge fifth wheel, came to help us with our patio…it was a large project to take on and was not easy to complete! The “Best” part was having old friends here to share the laughs while making new memories together…38 years of friendship is very cool! BTW Kev and Pat know how to do retirement right…they left here the end of August headed for parts unknown and a memorable adventure!
Weird weather continued with skies gone crazy, bringing many great photo ops…
Fire in the sky…this small cloud in the midst of the mega gray clouds was odd as the sundown colors hit it just right and was a fun capture!
With crazy clouds, weird weather and spectacular storms my summer was busy with my camera! I would head outside to relax for the evening…only to be muttering “dang” under my breath as I tried to ignore the odd clouds, lasting only seconds before I had my camera back in my hand again, shooting wild sky pictures overhead…it was an incredible summer!
Always with breathtaking beauty…and as I end this post…remember,
I’m riding hard for the Cure! Saddle up and ride with me declaring war on breast cancer! Lets ride and declare war on all cancers!
Yip-Yip-Yee-Haw And Hallelujah!!!
Have a peaceful evening wherever you are! I am over and out for now…but not for this long!

I believe the week of peace was meant to be HRCG! so we could just say Goodbye little by little & not have such a shock…..altho it wass a shock in its own way.
One of Nylalbue’s ‘show-furrs’ had to put her cat Max down on the Wed, Dec. 3rd & he was only 6 yrs old. Blood clot. How Sheila managed to show up to take me to do errands & get NB’s ashes is beyond me; that woman is Ingerity personified!
So Nylalbue has been busy welcoming kitties into Summerland…..
I think that double rainbow was definitely as sign from OUR girls to let us know all is well with them… I am glad neither is in pain…we were the BEST Mums’ to our girls…we have to hold on to that!!!
Incredible kitty girls; never forgotten โค โค

Hello HRCG it was a wonderful last week for Nylalbue & I. Dr Dave came Saturday & Sunday & Sheila took us Monday & Tuesday & Anne came in Wed.-Fri. to give Insulin. Nylablue did not fuss or fight. She accepted the injections but I could see she was failing lilttle by little. I could not make her go on; it was just not fair to her or me. Our girls are still our ‘bright spots’ in our hearts. I know it is not the same as them being physcially here….in time we will be able to smile at our memories….

I think that God blessed you and Nylablue with a week filled with peace…and good stuff. I do know what you mean as I could not bear to make Minnie go on either as she was so ill and so brave…she was brave for me and I knew that. We had beautiful kitty girls who loved us so much and we gave them everything that we could give them…I think that double rainbow truly was a sign from them saying we love you both our kitty Moms and we are ok…we know we will see you again. I can just imagine Minnie and Nylablue together experiencing the beauty and all the good that they would have received by now…with lots of love and and peace that would be all around them…they were incredible kitty girls and we were blessed…and I am thankful for your friendship:) Big hugs and gently thoughts:)

hello HRCG you are right I have done my best for Nylablue. She is just 14 years old…it is not a bad age but she has struggled with chronic illness since I rescued her at 5 yrs old. No one cared for her EVER..she was just a commodity. When I was told she was sick way back in 2006 I could have just put her to sleep then but I felt that was punsihing her for being sick. I never regretted saving her.
I am sorry you had to let Hobby go at 9 yrs of age; now THAT is young.
It is hard to love but it is worth all the tears…
“Love conquers everything.” ๐
We had a good day today & Dr Dave came to give her Insulin & he will come back tomorrow & I have a ride for Monday.
So one hour at a time….Nylablue is wonderful & amazing I have been honored to have her in my Life!

AMEN gf…you are so right on! I just now found this and yeah…I truly know and understand every word you share…I am with you as I too have been there with life and stuff…Minnie was a bright spot in my life as she always always kept me going when I wanted to just cruise along…she would hook me with a heavy paw pat and I knew I better move it..or suffer the wrath:)

Nylablue has gone Diabetic from the Depomedrol. She has an UTI also.
Dr Dave & I have a plan to keep her stable over the weekend. She will be PTS Tuesday the 18th. I will not let the illnesses ravage her further.

Oh Sherri-Ellen…I am so sorry. I know how much Nylablue means to you and how hard you try to give her everything to help her live a good normal loving life….she is yet so young and it angers me o know that people caused this poor kitty to get sick by their greed. Sending you hugs and prayers and kitty hugs, rubs and prayers to Nylablue…I do understand and know the depth of pain it causes you…I had to make the decision for my horse Hobby who was only 9 years old…it was the hardest decision I have ever had to make…but it was right as she was in pain. Be good to you and to Nylablue….enjoy this time and know my heart is with you as are my prayers…sending hugs and also my heartfelt support…and kitty loves and hugs.

Nylablue is stable; I on the other hand am in a flare-up that has lasted for weeks now. The weather is to blame….

Wonderful and spectacular photos! How awesome to be able to capture the sky with its beautiful shapes and colors. That triple digit heat is exhausting. We had our own spell here, and just hotter weather than normal for our area for many months now. The grape harvest was the earliest and fastest I’ve been through in 6 years. We began about 4 weeks early and are ending as such. We’ll be all done picking this week, and normally we don’t finish up the last varieties until mid-November! The heat and the drought have been awful. Anyhow, so glad you posted your pics and filled us all in, and also grateful Wild Bill is A-OK! Love the cars!!!! XOXO-Kasey

Hi there:) I’m sorry to be slow in answering you but the last month flew by and it seemed I was always overly busy doing either something for Bill or myself with our business stuff…crazy. I sort of let my blogging go a bit so I could rest more to help Bill when he needed me. He is finally turning a big corner in recovery….prob will begin PT soon. Life has been good just way too busy for me.I have had flowers blooming as of today and tonight we are to get a cold front from Canada in….temps will go from 70 to 75 in the daytime to a high of 32 beginning tomorrow…and lows at night down to 13 degrees….snow storms coming in Thursday….so things will change around here. Yesterday I was yet mowing our yard on November 9th….unheard of around here and weird! Hope all is well with you and your daughter:) I always enjoy hearing from you:) Hugs!

I feel blessed that I live here and being able to share my blessings through the lens of a camera is a good feeling:) My favorite color is red and when I saw that car, seeing the red color I was smitten with it! And yeah me too on it being October and almost half over…I cannot believe summer is gone…while I love Fall I miss Summer too! Wishing you a restful night and a beautiful peaceful Sunday:) Love, HRCG and be sure to give Nylablue kisses too and a soft gentle rub for Minnie and I:)

Thank you for your well wishes…it is good to hear from you as I have missed you! I hope your health is good and life is too:) It is hard to see your loved one go through pain and medical issues…you just want to help them and make them well again. WB has a ways to go before things are 100% back to normal and he feels really good again…surgery takes time to get all the meds out of your system…and to heal back up. Sending you blessings for a peaceful night of sleep and a beautiful Fall Sunday. Hugs to you and good health ahead:) Tell Gary “Hello”…

As always, just beautiful photos of a long, hot, but fun summer – that is until your hubby had to have surgery but even THAT turned out well and I’m so happy for that too. Yippeeee on declaring war on cancer of all types…..like you, I’m a survivor and it would make me so happy to hear it and all the other horrible diseases out there are WIPED OUT FOREVER. It’s my biggest and most fervent prayer. Enjoy Fall……it’s promising to be a beauty here.
Hugs, Pam

Its always good to see you Pam and Sammie too! I have missed everyone and it is good to be back sharing life here and connecting in friendship:) I agree that hearing they discovered a cure for cancer would be be top of list of prayers too…would never want another person to have to go through what we both went through! Wb is yet in recovery but doing well…he still has sever pain at times but he is healing. I do have to watch him like a hawk as he can be sneaky and go down to the shop and overdo. He is yet restricted to only lifting 5 pounds which is a half gallon of milk…he gets frustrated over that but I tell him to chill as this is healing time and if he does not do it correctly he will be back in surgery. I do remember my recovery took from April until November before I began to feel like me again and my strength returned…we have good employees so really he can take time to heal and rest. I hope you had a good summer and that fall will be a good one too. Minnie is now 19 and a half years old…she has slowed down so much and lately does not seem herself at times so I will be talking to the vet Tuesday…it amazes me that 20 years has flown by so fast! Give Sammy a head rub for me and sending hugs your way:)

Thank you so much…it is a new area for us to travel with health issues as we both feel too young but…Yes that was a mini-drone heli device he was using with a Go-Pro too which I have and they are very fun to use! One of the videos is almost done so I hope to see it this week…I did see a snippet and while WB was driving one of the vehicles down the road the camera view was from the air which was amazing to see as the angle is so much better for highlighting what you are shooting. I will let you know on the telephoto…I know there are many to look at…if you see one that looks good let me know too…I have a feeling the more expensive one will be the one I ultimately choose but…it would be great to find one that was much cheaper…I know,HA!

Thank you so much MJ, I’ve missed you too…WB is doing better day by day, and luckily we have great employees who know how to do the work if he is not right there. The recovery part is the hardest part of surgery as you feel better in your head but your body says whoa! I am thankful he will be ok once he heals up which will take time yet…he will try to rush it but I have “the look” down pretty good and I learned how to give the stink eye from him so I have him covered:)
