Happy Thanksgiving From Hot Rod Cowgirl!

Happy Thanksgiving to all who read my blog…I hope you had a wonderful day with your family and friends! Thanksgiving is a time to stop and look at the many blessings in our life the last year or even years…it’s a time of gratitude, a time to be thankful for the life we have and the life we live, a memorable time for family and happy times with friends.

I’m going to try something different with this post. My part of the post will be the photography. I will insert photos that fit well with the words from one of my favorite songs. When I was going through breast cancer, this song is the one I sang in my head whenever I went to surgery or saw my oncologist. It has always touched my heart deeply and I hope it does yours too.

Blessed Be Your Name

By Matt Redman

Blessed Be Your Name

In the land that is plentiful

Where your streams of abundance flow

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name

When I’m found in the desert place

DSC02603

Though I walk through the wilderness

Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out

I will turn back to praise

DSC03112

When the darkness closes in, Lord

Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be Your glorious name

When the sun’s shining down on me

When the world’s ‘all it should be’

Blessed be Your name

On the road marked with suffering

Though there’s pain in the offering

Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out

I’ll turn back to praise

When the darkness closes in, Lord

Still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed by Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name!

You give and take away

My heart will choose to say

Lord, blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your glorious name!

By now you should be full of turkey and all the trimmings…trying to make room for desert and more desert! Wishing you a fun weekend shopping, decorating or just hanging out! We are to get snow beginning Sunday…with super cold temps as in 6 degrees at night with a ripping hot daytime temp of 15 degrees!

I have to comment on the flowers. Petunias are not perennials…and as soon as we get winter here they are gone. However the last two summers they have all come back into 6 of my patio barrels…and they came back beautiful! The summer of 2012, we were busy remodeling and the summer of 2013 the weather was colder in June so I was late in planting. By the time I was able to plant new flowers, I had petunias growing back by the bushel in my barrels!

May you be blessed by the joys of the season…HRCG over and out for now but never for long! I am yet working on the awards I was given…hoping to post them soon:)

And I’m off…stay warm and gobble gobble!

As I get older Thanksgiving adds so much to my thankful list that I won’t post here. Suffice it to say one item in that list is your blog. 🙂

Thank you so much:) You made my night! I think as we grow we become more aware of the incredible gifts we have been given and our gratitude deepens as we understand the true value that often is in the simple things of our life…
Hope your area has warmed up, we are right at zero currently, with no wind chill reading which is nice! Stay warm:)

It’s 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning now and 25 degrees. That’s a heat wave compared to the last few days. It’s the calm before the storm as there’s precipitation head our way in the next few days.

Beautiful – I had a song I kind of sang to myself while going through chemo treatments….believe it or not it was “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”….whatever gets us through I guess. I hope you and your husband and all the animals – big or small – had a wonderful Thanksgiving and here’s to many, MANY more for all of us!

    Hugs, Pam (and Sam)

Thank you so much my friend:) Twinkle Twinkle would have worked for me too. You and I were fighters and that is a huge deal with survival:) How is Sam doing? Minnie will be 19 in May.
Hugs to you and to Sam,

Thank you much for your kind words…I hope it is gentle too as I do worry about all the animals….all our dogs have insulated cushy dog houses….and Ellie is almost sleeping in the house but for a few more months she is in the garage…and I was looking at heated beds for her today and also for MInnie….horses are snuggled down in their stalls and in their run…and our barn kitty has hay to snuggle down in. Have you had winter raise its ugly head yet? I hope you also stay warm and healthy:)
