Hot Rod Cowgirl Ropes In An Award!

Hot Rod Cowgirl ropes in an award!

SONY DSC

I am always so very humbled when fellow bloggers and readers, photographers and writers, present HRCG with an award. When I began doing my blog I had no idea that we would be given awards by our peers…the best part is that I also get to pass them on to other well deserving bloggers too!

The Wonderful Team Member Readership Award Was Given To Me By

http://chasingtheperfectmoment.com/awards/

Go check out Ginny’s wonderful life-giving blog…she writes with honesty and her true self as she seeks to encourage any who read her blog about life and memories. She loves to laugh and shares her life through her words and the different pieces of her life…and she hopes we will share our life pieces too:)

Telling our story, our history and life, can bring us a sense of peace down deep in our souls. Being a born writer at heart most of my life, I know the power of writing out our thoughts, our worries, and our memories. Writing our thoughts and worries down truly helps to empty out our concerns and emotions. There is something cleansing when we write our words and thoughts down on paper when we are struggling. Interestingly enough, when we do that, the struggle becomes less of a struggle and we find peace in our hearts instead of obsessively worrying. Writing out our worries helps make them less controlling of our thoughts. I know for me, once I get my worries  out on paper, I can get on with life and not dwell on them so much. I am more at peace with whatever it is that I am worrying about, and somehow the answer to solve the worry comes to me…now if I kept on fretting, I don’t think the answer would be clear to me. Writing is good and it is healing:)

To accept this award, I have to follow some rules and,

Annie was watching the sunset with me a few nights ago. We have been getting some of the smoke from Central Oregon’s fires and the sunsets, sunrises and last night even the moon have been spectacular.

Thank you again Ginny for this awesome award, I truly appreciate it:):):)

You are very wise Nellie:) Letting Jack The Cat go to be with God was a very difficult decision by far…but he would have not liked the new life of daily shots and blood tests for glucose levels…he was very macho and a kitty who can do anything with attitude. Both Pat and Minnie thank you for thinking of them…Pat suffers the hardest as Jack was his bro all his life…we have been comforting him and loving on him. And you are very deserving of this award:) Minnie says yeah you is…and she loves your blog! Mes too!!! Lots of kitty hugs and loves from here in Juniper Canyon:)

I am so sorry about your cat, we are having a problem with coyotes this year and we have already lost five cats. We even go to the trouble of locking them up at night in the hayloft. I am currently gathering pictures of our cats to do a post on what it means to be a barn cat and what really happens when you dump a kitten or a cat at a farm and take off. we had a young kitten that was attacked and had a lot of his foot torn up while trying to escape something that was bent on eating him. I was going to take pictures and include it in the post but I decided it would be to graphic. We have brought the kitten inside and he is making a remarkable recovery. I love your pictures and I have not seen such beautiful sunsets. Congratulations on your award you have a great blog,

Thank you much…Jack was a very special kitty and so very sweet. Loosing him was very hard. We have LOTS of coyotes too and a cougar has been spotted in the area…and wolf tracks have been found here as well. I do not like this at all as our horses and our barn kitty’s…let alone our dogs and the fear and vulnerability they would feel. I am going to get a new dog next week but she is young.

Thank you! How sweet you are to nominate Sammy – we both appreciate it very much…..We love your fiery sunsets and sunrises, your view of the prairie in all kinds of weather, your animal friends and adventures and of course Sammy has the old crush on Minnie (!!)…….sorry for the loss of your absolutely GORGEOUS barn boy. He was really a beautiful cat and I bet he kept that barn free of critters in his life. Have a special day of remembering – what would we do without the love from and TO our animals?!

Hugs, Pam (and Sammy of course)

You are very welcome and Minnie says Meowy Hi Sammy and I likes you alot:) Both Minnie and I love reading your blog and your photos of Sammy are great!!! They often make my day as we both smile and laugh! Sammy you are such a great poser and Pam you are such a great writer and a great Mom to Sammy:) Thank you for your thoughts on Jack….it was unexpected and we are still trying to absorb that he is gone. Yes he and his brother Pat came to live with us when they were about a year old…WB put in LOTS of kitty doors into the barn so that they always had an escape in case they needed a place to run to. This year they are 12 years old. Jack was a natural bobtail and Pat has the tail…I worry about Pat as he misses Jack already so we are keeping a close eye on him. I am not sure if he would like a young companion, he may protest. We took Jack to the vet Monday as over the weekend he was very tired and would come lay at our feet as if to say I need to go see the vet. Jack was always more reclusive than Pat so to see him at our feet was the only sign we had to see to know something was not right…he was diagnosed with diabetes and he was pretty weak by the time we could get close to catch him. It would mean daily shots and blood draws and we felt it would be too much for him to endure and we did not want him to suffer…as hard as it was we felt we had to put Jack first and let him go to God. So very hard to make decisions like that…we brought him home to bury him…it has been a hard week as we miss seeing him about. I agree I could not imagine not having our animals and their love for us and ours for them…wishing you blessings and Sammy Minnie sends a kitty hug!
